Team India registered their second victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup as they annihilated Scotland by eight wickets in Dubai on Friday (November 5).
Opting to bowl first, India bowled out Scotland for a paltry 85 in just 17.4 overs. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and speedster Mohammad Shami (3-15) starred with the ball as they claimed three wickets by conceding only 15 runs. Jasprit Bumrah (2-10) and R Ashwin (1-29) also returned with impressive bowling figures.
It was a listless batting performance from Scotland as no one even managed to touch the 30-run mark.
In reply, the Men in Blue needed to chase down the target in 7.1 overs to better their net run-rate than New Zealand and Afghanistan but the opening blitz from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma took India over the line in just 6.3 overs.
While Rahul slammed 50 off 19 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes), Rohit smashed 30 off 16 balls. Both of them might have got out but they had done their job and the duo of Suryakumar Yadav (6* off 2) and skipper Virat Kohli (2) completed the formalities in the end.
Cricket experts on Twitter lauded the Indian team for their clinical display, which still keeps them in contention for a semi-final spot.

#TeamIndia Looks like a completely different side when the most feared opening pair deliver performances like these. Just hoping for #AFG to beat #NZ 😜#INDvSCO #T20WorldCup

Super quick 50 @klrahul11 and very healthy for the position in times table. Keep doing the best and we hopefully can make an impact. #INDvSCO #T20WorldCup

Not such tough opponent, but India’s strong intent, with and bat and ball was worth watching. Twin objectives of winning match as well as upping NRR substantially achieved. Now for Afghanistan to beat NZ

Them: Indian fans shouldn't get excited with this win. Their qualification isn't in their hands etc..

Here is my review of this lovely birthday gift that his team has given @imVkohli what a clinical win this was against Scotland. And the NRR problem is also sorted. Listen in. pic.twitter.com/Wygg2s4JPJ

it is only fitting that since the appointment of the wall, india have responded brilliantly to a backs to the wall situation #INDvsSCO #T20WorldCup

I think India's heavy artillery arrived a little late. But the big guns are booming now

Well played team India. REALLY well played to get the NRR up now. Still work to do for the side and you need Afghanistan to beat New Zealand. Fingers crossed. This Sunday is when that game is. #ind #Scotland #AFG #T20worldcup
