Sri Lankan wicket-keeper tested positive for COVID-19, already he missed out Indian series due to shoulder injury in the absence of him Dasun Shanaka, lead the Sri Lankan team against the Indian series and did his job well to lead his team to win against India in T20I series after 13 years.
After recovery from the injury, Kusal Perera went mandatory RT-PCR test, which revealed that the player contracted the deadly virus.
Earlier during the Indian tour of Sri Lanka Indian players were affected by COVID-19. thus leaving the visitors left with unbalanced for last two T20Is.
It will be a huge blow for his national team as they are scheduled to play against the South Africa team.

The South African cricket team will be coming to Sri Lanka for playing three ODIs and as many T20Is next month. The games will be played between September 2 and September 14 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While the Sri Lankan team is yet to be announced.
