IPL teams should retain these players ahead of IPL 2022 auction

If news circulating around are to be believed then the latest one is regarding retaining players for IPL 2022 before the Auction. We are going to take a deep dive to look into the players and respective teams they will aim to keep their services available for the next four-year cycle.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Andre Russell, Shubhman Gill, and Varun Chakravarthy.

Perhaps KKR might make a whole new change to the entire setup from captain to local Indian players as well to get their old mojo for winning the Trophy.

Andre Russell bailed his IPL franchise many times with his brutal hittings in the death overs. Shubman Gil is an emerging player so KKR should invest in him for the future and the final name is Varun Chakravarthy, after Sunil Narine, he is the perfect candidate for the mystery spinner for two-time IPL champions.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Kane Williamson, T Natarajan, and Rashid Khan.

Given Any day Rashid Khan is the go-to bowler against any team in the world, he is genius in this format and already proved many times, and he is handy with the bat too. Kane Williamson is the name itself enough to retain him, such a calm leader and reliable batsman in the middle. T Natarajan rose to fame after showing the brilliant performance in IPL 2020, and his yorkers are most consistent.

SRH is very much dependent on foreign players, they will target some big Indian players during the auction to strengthen the squad to change their fortunes.

Rajasthan Royals

Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer, and Jos Butler.

Though Sanju Samson’s performance is not up to the mark in recent times, Rajasthan Royals should give him another chance. Jos Butler the English Wicket keeper and the batsman can be a backup keeper and ability to tonk the ball from the first ball of the over. Jofra Archer is a difficult bowler to face at any time in the innings.

RR has to invest a lot in picking solid batters and mystery spinners to the team so that they can challenge any opposition on regular basis.

Delhi Capitals

Rishab Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Kagiso Rabada.

DC will retain pant and Iyer at any cost since both are proven performers for the franchise. Both will be given a long run in the DC setup. They need to retain Kagiso Rabada, the world’s no 1 bowler who had given them match-winning spells on numerous occasions. He is very impressed with the ball at the death overs by nailing deadly Yorkers.DC has more Indian players in the current squads than any other team, but it is difficult for them to get all the core players from the auction.
