The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost the services of their England all-rounder Sam Curran who will miss the remainder of the IPL 2021 and the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 as well, after suffering a lower back injury.
The MS Dhoni-led side is placed no.2 on the points table and was allowed a replacement player for Sam Curran. Now, it has been revealed that CSK has signed the uncapped West Indies all-rounder Dominic Drakes as a replacement for the injured England all-rounder Sam Curran for the remainder of IPL 2021.
Drakes has featured in one First-Class, 25 List A, and 19 T20 matches so far. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium pacer. He is the son of former West Indies pacer Vasbert Drakes.
Drakes recently made 48* in 24 balls in the final of the Caribbean Premier League 2021 (CPL 2021) helping his team St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to register their first CPL title.
Chennai Super Kings take on Punjab Kings in their last league game of IPL 2021 on October 7 at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.
